Cheap Trick is an American rock band formed in Rockford, Illinois, in 1973. The band consists of members Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass guitar), and Daxx Nielsen (drums). Known for their catchy melodies, energetic live performances, and a mix of hard rock and power pop influences, Cheap Trick gained popularity in the late 1970s with hits like "Surrender" and "I Want You to Want Me."
Their most successful album, "Live at Budokan," was released in 1979 and featured live versions of their popular songs, including "Ain't That a Shame" and "Dream Police." Cheap Trick was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and has continued to release new music and tour extensively, maintaining a dedicated fan base worldwide.
