Chicago is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. The band was originally named Chicago Transit Authority, but later shortened their name to Chicago due to a trademark issue. Chicago is known for their unique sound which blends elements of rock, jazz, and pop music. They have released over 20 studio albums, with many of their songs becoming hits on the Billboard charts.


Chicago has had several lineup changes over the years, but founding members Robert Lamm (keyboardist and vocalist), Lee Loughnane (trumpeter), James Pankow (trombonist), and Walter Parazaider (saxophonist) have remained with the band throughout its history. Chicago has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous awards for their music. They continue to tour and perform to this day, showcasing their enduring popularity and musical talent.
