Christie is a British pop artist who gained popularity in the 1970s. The band was formed in 1969 and consisted of members Jeff Christie, Vic Elmes, and Mike Blakley. Their most well-known hit song is "Yellow River," which was released in 1970 and reached the top of the charts in several countries, including the UK. The song was written by Jeff Christie and was inspired by the idea of a soldier returning home from the American Civil War.

Despite the success of "Yellow River," Christie was not able to replicate the same level of success with their subsequent releases. The band eventually disbanded in the mid-1970s, but "Yellow River" remains a well-loved classic and is often included in compilations of 1970s hits.
