Christopher Cross is an American singer-songwriter known for his soft rock and adult contemporary music. He was born on May 3, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas. Cross gained fame in the early 1980s with his self-titled debut album, which featured the hit singles "Sailing," "Ride Like the Wind," and "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)." The album was a massive success, earning him five Grammy Awards in 1981, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.


Throughout his career, Christopher Cross has released a total of 12 studio albums, with his most recent being "Take Me As I Am" in 2017. He continues to tour and perform his classic hits for audiences around the world. Despite facing health challenges in recent years, including a battle with COVID-19 in 2020, Cross remains a beloved figure in the music industry with a dedicated fan base.
