Christopher Cross is an American singer-songwriter known for his soft rock and yacht rock music. He was born on May 3, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas. Cross gained mainstream fame in the early 1980s with his self-titled debut album, which won five Grammy Awards in 1981, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year for his hit single "Sailing."


Aside from "Sailing," Christopher Cross is also known for other popular songs such as "Ride Like the Wind" and "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)," which was featured in the movie "Arthur." Throughout his career, Cross has released several albums and continues to tour and perform his music for fans around the world. His smooth vocals and mellow sound have solidified his place in the soft rock genre.
