Chuck Jackson is an American R&B singer born on July 22, 1937, in Latta, South Carolina. He started his music career in the 1950s as a member of the group The Del-Vikings before pursuing a solo career. Jackson signed with Wand Records in the early 1960s and released his debut solo album, "I Don't Want to Cry," in 1961, which included the hit single of the same name. He went on to have several other successful singles, such as "Any Day Now" and "Tell Him I'm Not Home."


Throughout his career, Chuck Jackson was known for his smooth and soulful voice, which earned him a reputation as one of the leading figures in the soul music genre. He continued to release music and perform live shows well into the 21st century, showcasing his enduring talent and passion for music.
