Born Priscilla Maria Veronica White on May 27, 1943, in Liverpool, England, she started her career as a singer and was discovered by The Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein. She released several hit singles, including "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and "You're My World," which both reached number one on the UK charts.
In addition to her successful music career, Cilla Black also became a popular television presenter, hosting her own variety show called "Cilla" from 1968 to 1976. She later went on to host the highly popular dating show "Blind Date" from 1985 to 2003. Cilla Black was known for her warm personality, distinctive voice, and engaging stage presence, making her a beloved figure in British entertainment. She passed away on August 1, 2015, at the age of 72.
