C.J. & Company was a disco and funk band formed in Detroit, Michigan in the 1970s. The band was led by Calvin James, also known as C.J., who was the lead vocalist and songwriter for the group. C.J. & Company gained popularity in the disco era with their energetic live performances and catchy dance tunes.


Their most successful single, "Devil's Gun," was released in 1977 and reached the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. The song was a major hit in the disco scene and helped establish C.J. & Company as a notable act in the genre. Despite their success, the band did not achieve widespread mainstream recognition and eventually disbanded in the early 1980s.
