He is best known for his explicit and humorous songs under the persona of Blowfly, which often featured sexually explicit lyrics and comedic content.
Reid was also a prolific songwriter, penning songs for artists such as Betty Wright, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Gwen McCrae. He had a successful career in the music industry, releasing numerous albums and singles both under his own name and the Blowfly persona.
