Claudine Longet is a French singer, actress, and dancer who gained fame in the 1960s and 1970s. She was born on January 29, 1942, in Paris, France. Longet started her career as a singer and released several albums during the 1960s, with her music often featuring a mix of pop and traditional French chanson styles.
Longet also appeared in a number of films and television shows, including roles in "The Party" (1968) and "McCloud" (1970-1977). She gained further attention for her high-profile marriage to American singer Andy Williams in 1961, although the couple divorced in 1975. Longet's career was overshadowed by a tragic incident in 1976 when she was involved in a shooting that resulted in the death of her boyfriend, Olympic skier Spider Sabich. Longet was charged with manslaughter and eventually convicted of criminally negligent homicide.
