Artist Bio

Artist Bio:
Cledus Maggard And The Citizen's Band was a country music group known for their novelty songs in the 1970s. The group's lead singer, Cledus Maggard, was a fictional character created by radio DJ Jay Hughey. Maggard was portrayed as a truck driver who sang humorous songs about the trucking lifestyle and citizen's band (CB) radio culture.

Their most famous song, "The White Knight," was a parody of the popular CB radio craze during the 1970s. The song reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1976. Despite their success with this song and a few other novelty hits, Cledus Maggard And The Citizen's Band did not have a long-lasting career in the music industry, and they are mainly remembered for their unique and comedic approach to country music.
