The band's name was inspired by the English nursery rhyme of the same name. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1985, was a commercial success, reaching the top 10 on the charts in several countries, including the UK, Germany, and Sweden. The album featured the hit singles "When Your Heart Is Weak" and "The Promise You Made," which are still popular today.
Cock Robin released several more albums throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, with varying degrees of commercial success. The band's music is characterized by a blend of pop, rock, and new wave influences, and Peter Kingsbery's distinctive vocals.
