Coko is the stage name of Cheryl Elizabeth Gamble, an American R&B and gospel singer. She was born on June 13, 1970, in the Bronx, New York. Coko is best known as the lead singer of the R&B group Sisters With Voices (SWV), which achieved significant success in the 1990s with hits like "Weak" and "Right Here." The group disbanded in the late 1990s, and Coko pursued a solo career in both R&B and gospel music.
Coko released her debut solo album, "Hot Coko," in 1999, which featured the hit single "Sunshine." She later transitioned to gospel music and released several albums in that genre, including "Grateful" in 2006 and "The Winner in Me" in 2009. Coko continues to perform and record music, blending her soulful R&B roots with her faith-based gospel influences.
