Collective Soul is an American rock band formed in Stockbridge, Georgia in 1992. The band was originally known as "Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project" before changing their name to Collective Soul. The founding members include Ed Roland (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Dean Roland (rhythm guitar), Will Turpin (bass), Ross Childress (lead guitar), and Shane Evans (drums).
Collective Soul rose to fame in the 1990s with hits like "Shine," "December," and "The World I Know." They have released multiple successful albums, including their debut album "Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid" in 1993 and their self-titled second album in 1995. The band's sound is characterized by a blend of alternative rock, post-grunge, and hard rock elements. Over the years, Collective Soul has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to tour and release new music.
