Collective Soul is an American rock band formed in Stockbridge, Georgia in 1992. The band was originally formed by lead vocalist Ed Roland and rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, with the current lineup also including lead guitarist Jesse Triplett, bassist Will Turpin, and drummer Johnny Rabb. They are known for their post-grunge sound that incorporates elements of hard rock and alternative rock.
Collective Soul gained mainstream success in the mid-1990s with hits like "Shine," "The World I Know," and "December." They have released nine studio albums, with their self-titled album in 1995 being their most successful, reaching triple platinum status. The band has continued to tour and release new music, with a dedicated fan base that appreciates their energetic live performances and catchy rock anthems.
