Artist Bio:
The Commodores are an American funk and soul band formed in 1968 in Tuskegee, Alabama. The group was originally known as The Mystics and later changed their name to The Commodores after signing with Motown Records in 1972. The group's original lineup consisted of Lionel Richie, Thomas McClary, Milan Williams, William King, Ronald LaPread, and Walter "Clyde" Orange.

The Commodores gained mainstream success in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like "Brick House," "Easy," and "Three Times a Lady." They were known for their fusion of funk, soul, and R&B music, as well as their energetic live performances. The group experienced several lineup changes over the years, with Lionel Richie departing in 1982 to pursue a successful solo career. Despite these changes, The Commodores continued to release music and tour, maintaining a loyal fan base.
