Conway Twitty, born Harold Lloyd Jenkins in 1933, was an American country music singer and songwriter. Twitty scored his first country hit in 1958 with "It's Only Make Believe," which topped the charts in both the US and UK. Throughout his career, he recorded numerous hit songs, including "Hello Darlin'" and "Tight Fittin' Jeans."


Twitty was known for his distinctive voice, smooth vocals, and romantic ballads, earning him a dedicated fan base and numerous awards. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999, recognizing his significant contributions to the genre. Conway Twitty passed away in 1993, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most successful and influential country music artists of his time.
