Conway Twitty, born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was an American country music artist known for his rich baritone voice and numerous hit songs. He began his music career in the 1950s, initially as a rock and roll artist before transitioning to country music in the 1960s. Twitty achieved great success in the country music industry, with 55 number one singles on the country charts, the most of any artist at the time. Some of his most popular songs include "Hello Darlin'," "It's Only Make Believe," and "Tight Fittin' Jeans."


In addition to his successful music career, Twitty was also a talented songwriter and actor, appearing in films and television shows. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of country music's most iconic artists. Twitty passed away in 1993 at the age of 59, leaving behind a lasting impact on the country music genre.
