Conway Twitty, born Harold Lloyd Jenkins on September 1, 1933, was an American country music singer and songwriter. He had a successful career spanning over four decades, with numerous hit songs on the country and pop music charts. Twitty released over 50 studio albums and had 55 number one singles on the country charts, making him one of the most successful and influential artists in the genre.
In addition to his solo career, Twitty also collaborated with other country music legends such as Loretta Lynn, with whom he recorded a series of duets that became highly popular. Twitty was known for his smooth vocals, emotional delivery, and diverse musical style that incorporated elements of rock and roll into traditional country music. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999. Twitty passed away on June 5, 1993, but his music continues to be celebrated and remembered by fans of country music around the world.
