Cookie and His Cupcakes were a rhythm and blues band formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the 1950s. The group gained popularity in the local music scene and released several singles on the J.D. Miller-owned label, Rocko Records. Their most famous song, "Mathilda," was released in 1959 and became a regional hit, reaching number 47 on the Billboard R&B chart.
Cookie and His Cupcakes were known for their energetic live performances and unique blend of rhythm and blues, swamp pop, and New Orleans music styles. The band continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s, but never achieved widespread national success.
