Artist Bio:
Cookie and His Cupcakes were an American rhythm and blues band formed in 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The group's original lineup consisted of Shelton Dunaway (known as Cookie), Ivory Jackson, Marshall Laday, Ernest Jacobs, Joe Maxon, and Huey "Cookie" Thierry. They were known for their energetic live performances and unique blend of rhythm and blues, swamp pop, and rock and roll music.

The band scored their biggest hit in 1959 with the song "Mathilda," which reached number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They continued to perform and record throughout the 1960s, gaining a reputation as one of the most popular live acts in Louisiana. Despite never achieving major mainstream success, Cookie and His Cupcakes are remembered as influential figures in the development of Louisiana swamp pop music.
