The character gained popularity for its high-pitched, synthetic voice and its rendition of the song "Axel F" by Harold Faltermeyer.

In 2005, Crazy Frog released an album titled "Crazy Frog Presents Crazy Hits," which included remixed versions of popular songs along with the iconic "Axel F."
