Creedence Clearwater Revival, often referred to as CCR, was an American rock band formed in 1967 in El Cerrito, California. The band consisted of lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter John Fogerty, his brother Tom Fogerty on rhythm guitar, Stu Cook on bass, and Doug Clifford on drums. CCR gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s with their roots rock sound influenced by blues, rockabilly, and country music. They released a string of hit singles and albums during their career, including the iconic songs "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Fortunate Son."
