Crystal Gayle, born Brenda Gail Webb on January 9, 1951, is an American country music singer known for her distinctive long, flowing hair. She began her career in the 1970s and quickly rose to fame with her hit song "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," which won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Gayle has released over 20 studio albums and charted more than 20 number one hits on the country music charts. She is also known for her crossover success, reaching audiences beyond the country music genre with her pop-influenced sound.


In addition to her musical achievements, Crystal Gayle has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2017. She is the younger sister of country music legend Loretta Lynn, with whom she has occasionally collaborated.
