Song Info:
"Convoy" is a country and novelty song released in 1975 by C.W. McCall. The song became a massive hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976. It also topped the country and pop charts in Canada, and the UK Singles Chart, solidifying its international success. "Convoy" was inspired by the citizens band (CB) radio craze of the mid-1970s and tells the story of a group of truckers evading law enforcement in a cross-country convoy.

Artist Bio:
C.W. McCall is the pseudonym of William Dale Fries Jr., an American singer, songwriter, and advertising executive. Born in 1928 in Iowa, Fries first gained fame with the release of the song "Convoy" in 1975. The success of the single led to the creation of an entire album based on the trucker theme, which also achieved commercial success. While "Convoy" remains McCall's most well-known song, he continued to release music throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. Fries eventually retired from the music industry and returned to his career in advertising.
