Dale Hawkins was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on August 22, 1936, in Goldmine, Louisiana. He is best known for his hit song "Susie Q," which was released in 1957 and became a rock and roll classic. The song was later covered by various artists, including Creedence Clearwater Revival. Hawkins was known for his energetic performances and his unique blend of rockabilly, R&B, and country music.
Hawkins continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, releasing several albums and singles. He also worked as a record producer, collaborating with artists such as John Fred & His Playboy Band. Dale Hawkins was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007 in recognition of his contributions to the music industry. He passed away on February 13, 2010, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 73.
