Dale Hawkins was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist born on August 22, 1936, in Goldmine, Louisiana. He is best known for his rockabilly hit song "Suzy Q," released in 1957, which became a classic in the genre. Hawkins was also a pioneer in blending elements of rock and roll, country, and blues in his music, influencing many artists that followed him.


In addition to his music career, Hawkins also worked as a record producer and collaborated with other notable musicians such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Conway Twitty. He continued to perform and record music throughout his career, releasing several albums and singles. Dale Hawkins passed away on February 13, 2010, leaving behind a legacy as a key figure in the development of rockabilly music.
