Damn Yankees was an American rock supergroup formed in 1989. The band consisted of members from other well-known rock groups, including Ted Nugent, Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, and drummer Michael Cartellone. They released their self-titled debut album in 1990, which achieved commercial success and was certified double platinum in the United States. The album featured hit singles such as "High Enough" and "Coming of Age."
The band released a second album, "Don't Tread," in 1992, which also achieved moderate commercial success. Damn Yankees went on hiatus in the mid-1990s as members focused on their respective solo projects and other bands. The group reunited briefly in the late 1990s for a live album and tour. Despite their brief time together, Damn Yankees left a lasting impact on the rock music scene with their catchy tunes and energetic performances.
