Dan Fogelberg was an American musician, singer, and songwriter who was born on August 13, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois. He was best known for his soft rock and folk music style, and he achieved commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s. Fogelberg released his debut album, "Home Free," in 1972, and went on to release several more albums throughout his career, including the critically acclaimed "Souvenirs" in 1974 and "Nether Lands" in 1977.


One of Fogelberg's most popular albums was "The Innocent Age," released in 1981, which included hits like "Same Old Lang Syne" and "Leader of the Band." Throughout his career, Fogelberg received several awards and nominations, including multiple Grammy nominations. He continued to create music until his untimely death on December 16, 2007, at the age of 56, after battling prostate cancer. Fogelberg's music continues to be celebrated for its emotional depth and poetic lyrics.
