Dan Hartman was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer born on December 8, 1950. He rose to fame as a member of the Edgar Winter Group, where he played bass and sang backing vocals on their hit single "Free Ride" in 1973. Hartman later pursued a successful solo career, releasing several albums in the late 1970s and 1980s.
One of his most well-known songs is "I Can Dream About You," which was a top 10 hit in the United States in 1984. Hartman also found success as a songwriter and producer, working with artists such as Tina Turner, James Brown, and Dusty Springfield. He tragically passed away on March 22, 1994, at the age of 43, leaving behind a legacy of disco, pop, and rock music that continues to be celebrated by fans around the world.
