Artist Bio:
Danny & The Juniors were an American doo-wop group formed in Philadelphia in the late 1950s. The group consisted of lead singer Danny Rapp, Dave White, Frank Maffei, and Joe Terranova. They are best known for their 1957 hit single "At the Hop," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song became an iconic dance tune of the era and has since been featured in numerous films, TV shows, and commercials.
Despite the success of "At the Hop," Danny & The Juniors were unable to replicate the same level of success with their subsequent releases. The group continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but they never achieved the same level of commercial success they had with their debut single. Despite this, "At the Hop" remains a classic of the doo-wop genre and continues to be a popular oldies tune.
