Daryl Braithwaite is an Australian singer-songwriter who was born on January 11, 1949, in Melbourne, Australia. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the 1970s rock band Sherbet, which was one of the most successful Australian bands of the 1970s. After Sherbet disbanded in the early 1980s, Braithwaite embarked on a successful solo career.
One of his most popular songs is "The Horses," which was released in 1991 and became a massive hit in Australia, earning him an ARIA Award for Song of the Year. Braithwaite has released several solo albums throughout his career, including "Edge" in 1988, "Rise" in 1990, and "Taste the Salt" in 2008. He continues to perform and tour, and remains a beloved figure in the Australian music scene.
