Daryl Hall, born on October 11, 1946, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, is the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the duo. John Oates, born on April 7, 1948, in New York City, is the guitarist and backing vocalist. The duo met in the late 1960s while attending Temple University in Philadelphia and began their musical collaboration, releasing their debut album in 1972.
Hall & Oates achieved commercial success with their blend of rock, soul, and pop music, scoring numerous hit singles including "Rich Girl," "Kiss on My List," "Private Eyes," and "Maneater." They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music duos of all time. The duo was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, recognizing their influence and impact on popular music.
