Artist Bio:
Dave "Baby" Cortez, born David Cortez Clowney on August 13, 1938, is an American rhythm and blues and rock and roll pianist and organist. He is best known for his 1962 hit single "The Happy Organ," which was a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song features Cortez playing the electric organ in a lively and energetic style, making it a popular dance tune during the early 1960s.

Cortez began his music career as a jazz pianist before transitioning to rock and roll and rhythm and blues. In addition to "The Happy Organ," he had several other charting singles in the 1960s, including "Rinky Dink" and "Do the Funky Chicken." Cortez's innovative use of the electric organ in his music helped him stand out in the crowded music scene of the time, and he continues to be celebrated for his contributions to the development of rock and roll and R&B music.
