Dave Loggins is an American singer-songwriter born on November 10, 1947, in Mountain City, Tennessee. He is best known for his hit song "Please Come to Boston," which reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1974. The song was later covered by various artists, including Kenny Chesney and Joan Baez.


Aside from his solo career, Loggins has also written songs for other artists, including "Pieces of April" for Three Dog Night and "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)" for LeAnn Rimes. He comes from a musical family, with his cousin being the famous singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins. Dave Loggins continues to perform and write music, maintaining a successful career in the music industry.
