Artist Bio:
David Ruffin was an American soul singer and musician, best known for his work as the lead vocalist for The Temptations. Born on January 18, 1941, in Mississippi, Ruffin joined The Temptations in 1964 and quickly became a central figure in the group's success. He was known for his charismatic stage presence and distinctive vocals, which helped propel the group to international fame with hits like "My Girl" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg."


Ruffin left The Temptations in 1968 to pursue a solo career, releasing several successful albums and singles including "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)" and "Walk Away from Love." Despite his personal struggles with drug addiction and legal issues, Ruffin continued to perform and record music until his death on June 1, 1991. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 as a member of The Temptations, solidifying his legacy as one of the most influential voices in soul music.
