David Ruffin was an American singer and musician, best known as the lead vocalist for the popular Motown group The Temptations. Born on January 18, 1941, in Whynot, Mississippi, Ruffin rose to fame in the 1960s with hits such as "My Girl" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." He was known for his powerful and soulful voice, as well as his charismatic stage presence.
Ruffin left The Temptations in 1968 to pursue a solo career, releasing several successful albums including "My Whole World Ended" and "Feelin' Good." Despite personal struggles with drug addiction and legal issues, Ruffin continued to perform and record music throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Temptations in 1989. Ruffin passed away on June 1, 1991, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest soul singers of his time.
