Artist Bio:
David Ruffin was an American singer and musician, best known for his time as the lead singer of the Temptations, one of Motown's most successful groups. Born on January 18, 1941, in Mississippi, Ruffin joined the Temptations in 1964 and quickly became a standout member with his distinctive raspy voice and charismatic stage presence.

Ruffin's tenure with the Temptations produced hits like "My Girl" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." He left the group in 1968 to pursue a solo career, where he also found success with songs like "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)." Despite battling personal struggles with drug addiction and legal issues, Ruffin continued to perform and record music until his untimely death on June 1, 1991, at the age of 50.
