David Soul is an American-British actor and singer, born on August 28, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his role as Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson in the popular 1970s TV series "Starsky & Hutch." Soul also had success as a musician, scoring a number one hit in the UK and several other countries with his single "Don't Give Up on Us" in 1976. The song also reached the top 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In addition to his work on "Starsky & Hutch," Soul has appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including "Magnum Force" and "Salem's Lot." He has also had a successful stage career, appearing in productions such as "Jerry Springer - The Opera" in London's West End. David Soul continues to act in both film and television, as well as pursuing his passion for music.
