Debbie Harry, born on July 1, 1945, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress best known as the lead singer of the new wave band Blondie. She was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Hawthorne, New Jersey. Harry co-founded Blondie in the mid-1970s and quickly rose to fame with hits such as "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," and "Rapture."
In addition to her music career, Debbie Harry has also pursued acting, appearing in films such as "Hairspray" and "Videodrome." She is known for her distinctive style, combining punk rock attitude with glamour and has been a fashion icon since the 1970s. Harry continues to perform with Blondie and has released solo albums as well. She has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Blondie in 2006.
