Dee Clark was an American rhythm and blues and soul singer best known for his hit song "Raindrops," which reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. Born in Arkansas in 1938, Clark began his music career as a member of various doo-wop groups before launching his solo career in the late 1950s. He signed with Vee-Jay Records and achieved commercial success with his soulful vocals and smooth delivery.
In addition to "Raindrops," Dee Clark had several other charting singles, including "Hey Little Girl" and "Nobody But You." He continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but his commercial success waned as musical trends shifted. Despite this, Clark remained a respected figure in the music industry, known for his distinctive voice and soulful style. Dee Clark passed away in 1990 at the age of 52, leaving behind a legacy of timeless R&B and soul music.
