She was born on September 25, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey, and was the younger sister of the legendary singer Dionne Warwick. Dee Dee Warwick began her career as a gospel singer before transitioning to R&B and soul music. She was known for her powerful and emotive voice, which earned her critical acclaim in the music industry.


Warwick released several successful singles, including "I Want to Be with You" and "Foolish Fool," which both reached the top 10 on the R&B charts. She also had a successful songwriting career, penning hits for artists such as Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett. Despite her talent and success, Warwick's career was overshadowed by personal struggles and health issues. She passed away on October 18, 2008, at the age of 63. Warwick's contributions to soul music continue to be celebrated by fans and music historians.
