Deee-Lite was an American house and dance music group formed in New York City in 1986. The trio consisted of lead vocalist Lady Miss Kier (born Kierin Magenta Kirby), DJ Dmitry Brill (a.k.a. Supa DJ Dmitry), and Towa Tei. Deee-Lite is best known for their hit single "Groove Is in the Heart," released in 1990. The song was a commercial success, reaching the top 10 in multiple countries and becoming a staple of the dance music scene.
In addition to "Groove Is in the Heart," Deee-Lite released several albums, including "World Clique" (1990) and "Dewdrops in the Garden" (1994). The group's music was characterized by its upbeat and eclectic mix of house, funk, and dance-pop elements.
