Del Reeves was an American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist born on July 14, 1932, in Sparta, North Carolina. He began his music career in the 1950s, signing with Capitol Records in 1962. Reeves achieved commercial success in the 1960s and 1970s, with several of his singles reaching the top of the country music charts.
One of his most well-known hits is "Girl on the Billboard," which reached number one on the country charts in 1965. He also had other successful songs like "Looking at the World Through a Windshield" and "The Belles of the Southern Bell." Del Reeves was known for his honky-tonk style and distinctive voice, which helped him stand out in the crowded country music scene of his time. He continued to perform and record music into the 1980s before passing away on January 1, 2007, in Centerville, Tennessee.
