Artist Bio:
Del Shannon was an American rock and roll and pop singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the early 1960s. He is best known for his hit song "Runaway," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. Shannon was known for his distinctive falsetto voice and innovative use of instruments such as the Musitron, a keyboard-like instrument that he used to create unique sounds in his music.

In addition to "Runaway," Shannon had several other hits including "Hats Off to Larry" and "Little Town Flirt." He continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but struggled to maintain the same level of success he had early in his career. Despite this, Shannon's influence on the rock and roll genre was significant, and he is remembered as a talented and innovative artist whose music has stood the test of time. Shannon sadly passed away in 1990.
