Artist Bio:
Del Shannon, born Charles Weedon Westover on December 30, 1934, was an American rock and roll and country musician. He is best known for his 1961 hit single "Runaway," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became his signature song. Shannon was known for his distinctive falsetto voice and innovative use of the electric keyboard on his recordings.

In addition to "Runaway," Shannon had several other hit singles in the early 1960s, including "Hats Off to Larry" and "Little Town Flirt." He continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, experimenting with different styles and genres. Shannon tragically passed away on February 8, 1990, at the age of 55. Despite his relatively short career, Del Shannon's music continues to be celebrated and remembered as an important contribution to the early rock and roll era.
