Artist Bio:
Del Shannon was an American rock and roll and country musician born on December 30, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He rose to fame in the early 1960s with his hit song "Runaway," which reached the top of the charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Shannon was known for his distinctive falsetto voice and innovative use of electronic effects in his music.

Aside from "Runaway," Del Shannon had several other hits including "Hats Off to Larry" and "Keep Searchin' (We'll Follow the Sun)." He continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, achieving moderate success with his music. Unfortunately, Shannon struggled with personal and professional challenges, including battles with depression. He tragically passed away by suicide on February 8, 1990, in Santa Clarita, California, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneering artist in the rock and roll genre.
