Artist Bio:
Denise LaSalle was an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. She was born on July 16, 1939, in Mississippi and passed away on January 8, 2018. LaSalle started her music career in the 1960s and gained fame in the 1970s for her soulful and sassy style of singing. She was known for hits like "Trapped by a Thing Called Love" and "Now Run and Tell That."


LaSalle was also a prolific songwriter, penning many of her own songs as well as writing for other artists. She was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011 and continued to perform and record music throughout her career. LaSalle's music often explored themes of love, heartbreak, and empowerment, resonating with audiences around the world.
