Denise LaSalle was an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. She was born on July 16, 1939, in Sidon, Mississippi, and passed away on January 8, 2018, in Jackson, Tennessee. LaSalle began her music career in the 1960s, gaining popularity for her soulful and powerful voice. She was known for her hits such as "Trapped by a Thing Called Love" and "Now Run and Tell That." LaSalle was also a prolific songwriter, penning many of her own songs as well as writing for other artists.
Throughout her career, Denise LaSalle released over 20 albums and received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the music industry. She was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011 and was a trailblazer for women in the male-dominated blues and R&B genres.
