Depeche Mode is an English electronic music band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The band's original lineup consisted of Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards, guitar). Clarke left the band in 1981 and was replaced by Alan Wilder, who left in 1995.
Known for their dark, industrial sound and introspective lyrics, Depeche Mode rose to fame in the 1980s with hits such as "Just Can't Get Enough," "Personal Jesus," and "Enjoy the Silence." They have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists. Depeche Mode has been nominated for numerous awards and have won several, including a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. They continue to tour and release new music, with their most recent studio album, "Spirit," released in 2017.
